Show Rules

Show is held in accordance with VBHSA ByLaws and VHSA Associate Rules

• Six ribbons will be awarded for 1st through 6th placement in each class.
• Championship and Reserve ribbons will be awarded in each division
• Everyone must wear a hardhat when mounted
• Judge’s decision is final.
• No visitor dogs please.
• Current negative Coggins must be left with the show secretary, to keep. NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Entries must be paid at the time of entry or covered by an open check left with the secretary.
• Cell phones must be on vibrate mode or turned off and are not permitted in the show ring.
• Discourtesy to an official by any spectator, rider, trainer or groom will disqualify the horse(s) with which they are associated and all fees are forfeited.
• Management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes and to interpret all questions and conditions in regards to or arising out of an incident at the show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind.
• All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by Management, and their decision is final.

Condition of Entry

Participants who submit an entry form (signed or not) realize and accept the inherent risks of equine activities as outline in VA Code 32.2-6206. Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of Show Management but Show Management will in no case be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Show, the Management, and the facility harmless for any loss or accident to his or her horse, horses, or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.

Covid - 19 Precautions

These precautions are subject to change as the situation evolves and the Governors issues new guidelines. Please check this list prior to all shows for new changes.

• It is strongly suggested to enter online.
• There may or may not be concessions provided. Please bring your own concessions.
• Stalls will be assigned by show management with extra space between barn/trainer groups. We will notify you of your stall placement prior to the show. Stalls will be limited.
• Social distancing must be a priority at all times. This includes the secretary, gatekeeper and announcer areas. Non-related groups standing or sitting need to keep at least 6 feet apart and no gatherings of more than 50 people in a given area.
• Trainers may pick up show packets that will include rider show numbers and jump course at secretary stand day of show. Trainers must provide a copy of their participating exhibitors' valid Coggins and any remaining entry fees when picking up show packet. Please allow only one person at the secretary stand at a time.
• Trainers should stay on track with schooling and getting students to the rings. Please make the gate keepers aware of any problems or conflicts. It is essential to keep the day moving as there are extra schooling sessions throughout the day.
• Spectators are not permitted. Parents may accompany minor exhibitors but please limit to one parent if possible.
• Exhibitors should leave the premises 30 minutes after their classes are completed.
• When parking please keep a minimum of 12' between all vehicles.
• Masks are required while on show grounds except while mounted.
• It is strongly suggested you bring your own hand sanitizer.
• Bathrooms will have disinfectant spray. It is up to each user to clean surfaces prior to and after use.
